Improve your concentration with mindfulness




Moris Beracha.- The goal of Mindfulness is to increase self-awareness, connecting body and mind to create a sense of calmness. This practice has proven benefits to relieve and reduce stress.

If you want to start and give Mindfulness a chance, there are several ideal exercises to start with. Universia includes some very simple activities.

Find a candle, light it and sit in front of it. Observe the flame for one minute, think only of the light. You can use an alarm to indicate when the time is over.

It is normal that in tense situations our breathing is brief, superficial and centered in the chest. If you want to lower the revolutions, just focus on the present and pay attention to the way you breathe.

When a situation overwhelms you or you feel you are not paying enough attention, stop for a moment and breathe. It is good to wonder what is happening or why that situation is upsetting you. 

Understanding what we find challenging is the best way to get your mind adapted to this present.

Having the phone at your fingertips is not always beneficial. It does not help us to relax and enjoy quietly a trip by metro or the landscape that surrounds us. To get away from the screens a bit, you must consciously record the impulses that make you take the phone and check your social networks or messages. When you identify those moments, you should resolve to prevent these situations and avoid the impulse to check them.

Being thankful every hour of the day for a different reason should become your goal. Every time an hour passes, think of something you appreciate in that day or the moment you are living and the reason why you feel that gratitude and what it brings to you. The feeling of well-being is instantaneous.

Give yourself the chance to know new places. Walk along a beach, a park or any place outdoors. 

Walk through spaces you did not know and concentrate only on the sensations transmitted by the environment.

There are dozens of activities that we do daily and are repeated within our routine. Washing our hands, face, teeth, dressing ourselves, cooking, making our beds ... Choose the activity you want and when you should do it, make sure to do it calmly and taking the time necessary for it. Have contact with water, the sensation of freshness, and live each one of the sensations created.
